CLASSIC CLAY - MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE
Classic Clay is handed over by the installing contractor as a completely finished, ready to play surface. Unlike normal synthetic grass, Classic Clay needs only a few days settling in period. After heavy rain the aggregate clay infill will settle a little further into the pile of the polypropylene catalyst. Simply add 2-4 bags of topping material by casting over the playing area.
DAILY MAINTENANCE
1. Remove by hand or flat spade any loose debris, leaves, sticks, bird droppings, etc. This is to avoid contamination of the surface by foreign matter.
2. Excess clay worked to the outside perimeter of the surface from play should be swept into small mounds and shoveled into the Classic Clay sieve bin to remove foreign matter. Then cast clean filtered Clay onto area of play and if necessary adding extra infill.
3. Then by using a Classic Clay drag mat, start at the net running parallel from one side of the court to the other. This procedure should take no longer than ten minutes. The importance is to maintain even distribution of infill cover and smooth the surface.
The clay should cover the surface so as the synthetic pile is not visible. The slightly raised white line will still remain visible after using the drag mat. You may choose to use a line sweeping broom.
4. The surface can be wet down before play, but is not necessary.
NOTE: WE RECOMMEND THAT PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CAN BE CARRIED OUT ON YOUR SURFACE BY YOUR CONTRACTOR.
