watering a Classic Clay Court is a great advantage, although not necessary. Naturally, you will find that the surface becomes a darker colour. When watered, the balls however remain reasonably dry with a consistent, perfect ball bounce, unlike normal clay, where the mineral infill will turn to mud over time. likewise, when dry, normal clay will become concrete like, causing irregular ball bounce.
Daily maintenance is recommended by bagging the surface of the court. It should take approximately 7-10 minutes. It is recommended once each week to sweep the sides of the court into small mounds and cast into the main play area, then bag.
Bagging the courts between sets is not necessary, however, it will give you a positive ball mark. Unlike normal clay, no indents occur in the court. However, bagging should take place after each match. This is considered good etiquette.
Most of the infill is held within the clay court fabric and whilst the special infill is small, it does not contain dust. Therefore, only in extremely windy situations could surplus be caused to move. Whereas normal clay blows away and covers everything with red dust.
Normal drag mat procedures are sufficient, however we supply a line groomer with every Classic Clay Court.
The in-fill does not wash away as most of the infill is within the surface structure. However, during torrential rain conditions you might find a small
If Grass Manufacturers maintenance and grooming procedures are adhered to, it is possible for the Classic Clay to remain rich in colour for many years. If these procedures are not followed, slight fading will occur.
Classic Clay does not compact over time, as it is incorporated with specially selected rounded and movable mineral infills, (unlike normal clay, made up of crushed bricks which becomes muddy). This benefit also allows players back on the court quickly even after rain showers, it is an excellent recovery surface.

Classic Clay has a 10 Year Warranty subject to the courts being used and maintained in a specified manner and the mineral infill maintained at the correct level. The warranty is explicit. If the Club or private owners do not maintain the courts in accordance with Grass Manufacturers procedures, the Warranty will then be made invalid. It is also conditional that the correct footwear be worn during play ie. No spiked shoes.
